Each day they discussed a different habitat. Most days they compared two different (but similar) animals. They went to each habitat located within the classroom, held animals, read stories, and put together a little craft. I enjoyed it and learned as much as she did.
Monday-Mountain Stream
They talked about fish, turtles, and bears. They were able to hold the turtle and insects. Each day they started by feeding the trout in the habitat.
Tuesday-Beaver Pond
They talked about beavers and frogs/toads. I stayed home with Max and theEdge. They will soon be best buds. Well, theEdge already thinks they are.
Wednesday-Cypress Swamp
They talked about the differences between gators and crocs. And they even got to touch a real gator! Yikes! They went on a walk through the rainforest (a real one) within the science center. It was awesome that they were able to grow bananas, coco beans, papayas, and coffee plants.
Thursday-Invertebrate Zoo
They discussed the differences between moths and butterflies. They went outside to the butterfly garden and looked at the butterfly plants, caterpillars, and moths and butterflies. They also worked as a group to put together a floor puzzle.
Friday-Salt Marsh
They spent the majority of the day in the Marine Life Room. They were able to "two finger touch" sting rays, horseshoe crabs, hermit crabs, sea urchins, and whelk.
I love this expression on her face. This is when the hermit crab made it's appearance out of the shell the teacher was holding. I think she thought it was awesome!

Love the expression when something new and exciting is experienced. Glad she loves to learn and experience new things.
