Another Homeschool Day

The local science center had a homeschool day. We took advantage of a change in the daily grind.
Snapped this while waiting on the planetarium show to begin.

 Love my munchkins.

Funny Day at TCM

We took a trip to the museum. And had lots of laughs and found new exhibits we have not seen before.

Jonah's Druthers

It's that time of year again for Lily's choir musical. This one, called Jonah's Druthers, was set in the wild west and told the story of Jonah's journey to Nineveh. It was so so cute.

I was excited to be able to make her prairie skirt. The machine needed to be dusted off.

 Full Choir

Lily was in an ensemble.

They even did some motions

Fun night laughing with these kids. Great job Lily!

Spring Break at the Bowling Alley

Spring break weather was cooler than we would have liked for outside play dates, so we made the most of it and headed to the bowling alley one day. The kids had a fun time and it was fun to enjoy the company of adults!

Spring Break at Home

Time for a break from school. We need one!

We weren't out and about, but we did some fun things around the house.

Hair

Rainbow Loom

Cookies

Snuggles

Quiet Time Turned Nap Time

It was a good we to relax and enjoy each other without the stress of school.

Let's Get Wet

Spring is off to a HOT start. We pulled out the water table and let the kids play to beat the heat.

Charm, Grace, and Confidence

I recently learned about an etiquette class that was being taught by one of the high school seniors at our church. We have been talking at home a lot about manners and I thought this would be a great opportunity to have someone else speak to the manners we are trying to instill in our girl.

This was a 5 week class, lasting 2 hours each Saturday. They discussed proper greetings, how to carry on a conversation, phone etiquette, dining etiquette, thank you cards, invitations, grooming, and posture. She had a great time being girly with this group.

At the end of the class, we were invited to a banquet where the girls were able to practice all that they had learned.

I was so thankful for this opportunity for Lily to do something just for her. She has been so great to help out around the house and I love being able to give back.

Language Arts

We decided to think outside the box a bit and eat our spelling words. Here's to hoping it will make learning more fun.

And then we played parts-of-speech dominos...in our PJs.

B-B Guns, B-B-B Guns, We Love 'Em

*An old Pine Cove cheer*

JD told Lily that when she turned 8 she could shoot a gun. After a couple of weeks, she finally asked about it. She and JD spent an afternoon in the backyard learning safety and shooting targets and cans. She had a blast! (pun intended)

Time to Sew

Lily received a sewing machine for Christmas. Between being great with child and having a newborn, there has not been much time. But I made it a priority on her birthday to start simple and make a bookmark. She did great!! So proud! I am ready for this summer so we can do it again!

Eight Years

It is so hard to believe my baby is EIGHT years old. JD and I are so proud of the young woman she is becoming. She has a heart to serve others. She is a great friend--to old friends and to new ones. She never wants anyone to feel alone. She loves to craft, read, watch TV, play games on the iPad, and play outside. She also loves animals. Most of all she loves her family. She loves to serve Momma and Daddy and she is a huge help with her brothers. She can't get enough hugs! She is asking more and more questions about what it means to have a relationship with Christ.

She asked for a chocolate cake with chocolate icing, just like Nonnie's. I toned down the richness a bit and it was delicious!

We had her friends over before the baby, but we still were able to celebrate with more presents from family!

Joining the Rainbow Loom family

And a several year dream came true!

Thanks Mimi and Pop! (I love technology!)

Baby Girl--I love watching you grow and mature every day! Can't wait to see what the next year holds. I pray Daddy and I will continue to answer those questions about your relationship with Jesus and that you will trust Him with your whole heart. He has big plans for you and I can't wait to see where He takes you.
