The Christmas Express

A take off the Polar Express, the Christmas Express is a ride in the car to go check out Christmas lights. I have seen tickets on Pinterest to put on your kids pillow at bedtime to surprise them or a gift for them to open. JD and I had a different plan.

After they opened their PJs, they got ready for bed and actually stayed in bed. JD and I then warmed up with the hot chocolate and gathered a cookie for everyone. We then played this loud train whistle over the speakers. It took a minute and then Lily came out so very confused. And Max was whining a bit. We laughed at the first time we had done this and how confused they were. But once we explained that we were heading out to look at lights, they were excited and completely ready to go.

We hit up one house. Yes, only one. It was one of those houses with the lights set to dance to music. Once we drove there, waited in line, watched the lights, and drove back home, we had been gone over an hour. It was fun to see their excitement and can't wait to do it again next year!
