Christmas Morning

This is our second year to be home on Christmas morning.

Santa delivered some cookies this year.

Last year we tried reading the Christmas story between opening gifts. It was pretty much a flop. Growing up, we always played games as we opened up gifts. We decided to do a combo of sorts this year. We put all of the Little People Nativity into a bag. Everyone took turns drawing people out of the bag. When they were all accounted for, we began to read about the birth of Christ from the Bible. As we got to a character, if you had that person, you were able to open a gift. It worked much better for the kids this year.

Last year we decided to do the 4 gift thing for our kids--

Something you want
Something you need
Something to wear
Something to read

It has helped to introduce more than toys into the house. A good thing for our family.

Patterns for her new-to-her sewing machine

Something you want

Guitar

 Something to Read-Tag Jr.

Something you want-Sleeping Queens

The kids also enjoyed gifts from our extended family.

We enjoyed just playing around for the rest of the morning and afternoon. All Max wanted to do was
"rock the guitar" with Daddy. Have you heard the song Hosanna Rock by Little Praise Party? It's how he learned to "rock the guitar." (Plus it is a super great album for kids!)
