It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas

This year I really struggled with decorating for Christmas. Think about it...we leave for Christmas on the 14th of December and return on the 30th. After being away from home for 2 1/2 weeks, who wants to unpack a ton of suitcases AND take down the tree? Not on my top ten list of favorite things to do.

The last time we decorated a big tree was in 2006! Check out how little my girl is!

So, after lots of debating (or not really any at all) we talked ourselves into putting up the tree. We both remember taking the day to decorate and we really want Lily to have that memory as well. And she did love it. She wanted to touch (and line up {OCD}) every ornament and know the story behind each one. That about wore me out.

Before we  got out the ornaments, we opened up the Little People Nativity. Since Max has been enjoying LP, we figured he would like these too. Sure 'nough. He had that angel head in his mouth in no time flat. (blogger won't upload the picture. sorry you have to turn your head)

But once it was all said and done, we were able to sit back, turn off the overhead lights, turn on the tree lights, and enjoy some hot chocolate and a Christmas movie!

Ahhh. Memories! So glad we said YES!!
